The Center for Human rights and National Unity was founded in 1995. We
believe that paying attention to human rights and National Unity are two
sides of the same coin. our center is unique in Egypt because in not only
studies human rights issues but also provides practical juridical
assistance to those in need. Our center only accepts clear -- put human
rights cases. We believe that taking up the defense of the human rights of
individuals or groups is an important tool in promoting national unity in
Egypt. National unity is for us not only between Muslims and Christians
but between all religious and political convictions.
In our board and on our staff of lawyers we have Muslims and Christians of
different political and religious convictions. Our Center is independent
and is not linked to any religious or political group. We firmly want to
keep our independence which is an essential element in our work.
